Candidate Interviews for Superintendent of Schools.  Each candidate waited in the lobby before their interview.  Whenever President Aguillard left the School Board meeting room to greet the candidate prior to their scheduled interview time, Mrs. Leslie Grezaffi, Vice-President, assumed the role as Chairperson until his return.

Candidate interviews, open to the public, were scheduled from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., for the second day of round one.  Mrs. Linda D’Amico, the Superintendent, served as the moderator.  Each candidate was asked questions by the moderator; followed by questions fielded by School Board members.

An expansion folder was prepared for School Board members with the following information regarding each candidate:  schedule of interviews, redacted resumes, certification information, and a response sheet for note taking.  Questions were received from educators, individuals and organizations in the community; these questions were reviewed and considered for rounds 1 & 2 of the interview process.  Mrs. D’Amico mentioned after each candidate completes their scheduled interview with the School Board, they will be asked to answer five additional questions for the writing sample part of the interview process.  Copies of these writing samples will be given to each School Board member.

The following candidates interviewed for the position of Superintendent of Schools on day two of round one:

Mr. Ted David (8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.); Mrs. Lisa D’Aquila (9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.); Mr. Steven Josh LeSage (10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.) and Mr. James Bart Thibodaux (11:15 a.m. – 12:15 a.m.)

After the last interview, President Frank Aguillard announced the Board will vote to reduce the field of applicants to three (3) finalists at a Special Meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2015, immediately following the regular scheduled meeting that will begin at 5:30 p.m.  He reminded the Board members of the voting process adopted at the Special School Board meeting on March 18, 2015 regarding round one:  Board members will receive a written ballot prepared with the names of the qualified applicants.  Each Board member will select three (3) names and sign/date the ballot.  The ballots will be submitted simultaneously to Mrs. Linda D’Amico, Superintendent, for tabulation of votes.  The votes of all School Board members will be tallied and those applicants receiving the top three vote totals will proceed to the next round of interviews.  In the event that the top three vote totals involve more than three (3) applicants, a runoff ballot involving only those who are tied shall be conducted.  Board members shall vote for the number of positions to be filled in order to have three (3) finalists.  A short discussion ensued regarding paper/electronic balloting.  It was decided that Lacey Bueche, Technology Supervisor, will devise an electronic ballot in addition to the paper ballots.
