It is the belief of the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board, the administration, and all personnel that each student in the system is unique and is capable of learning.  In order to educate each student, the school must accept each individual at his/her own level of development.  Instruction must be adapted to meet the individual needs of each student in order to insure maximum growth emotionally, intellectually, and socially.


The School Board has the responsibility of providing opportunities for all students to be sufficiently educated to become contributing members of society.  The system must provide leadership, management, and coordination in order to afford the students the opportunity to achieve to their maximum ability.


The Pointe Coupee Parish School System believes the following statements support its philosophy.


  1. Quality instruction should be provided for each student.

  2. An individualized curriculum for each student is the responsibility of the school system.

  3. All students can learn and reach individual acceptable standards designed for their needs and abilities.

  4. Adequate personnel, facilities, equipment, materials, auxiliary services should be furnished by the school system.

  5. It is necessary to inform the public concerning the direction and needs of the school system.

  6. Adequate in-service, professional training, leadership training, and complete evaluation of all components of programs should be provided.

  7. Proper liaison and cooperation between all agencies, professional groups, clubs, etc., whose responsibility it is to provide service and/or assist youths and adults is a necessity.

  8. Budgeting, accountability, and service are essential to operate in a businesslike manner.
