The Pointe Coupee Parish School Board recognizes the educational and cultural value of international exchange programs and students.


Foreign exchange students shall be enrolled on a temporary basis for cultural enrichment.  The students shall be placed on an appropriate grade level according to their chronological age and transcripts, if available.


The Superintendent shall establish procedures and regulations for the administration of the foreign exchange student program to ensure that the acceptance and placement of international exchange students shall be a beneficial experience for all involved.


Graduation from high school by a foreign exchange student shall be dependent upon proper transfer of credits and the student earning all Carnegie units required for graduation and all other requirements established by the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE).  Students not meeting these requirements shall not participate in graduation ceremonies.
