Engaging in the Curriculum with Student-Centered Learning at Rosenwald!

Engaging in the Curriculum with Student-Centered Learning at Rosenwald!

Our third-grade teachers, LaMonica Edwards and Samantha Slim, are teaching their students about cooperation and working together in groups to help solve problems. By planning and having procedures in place within the classroom, students are learning to be leaders at school, as well as taking a more active part in their personal educational pathway. With the Guidebooks Curriculum for reading and the New Science Standards in Science, students are learning how to become engaged members of groups and leaders with roles for their learning goals. Students are working together to learn about motion and balance in science. In these groups, they ask scientific questions and work together to practice what they are learning. In reading, students are studying novels and learning how to ask questions, communicate with academic vocabulary, and write opinion essays. At Rosenwald Elementary, we are focused on Student-Centered Learning!
