If Stones Could Speak, What Would They Say?

Recently, Rougon's Sixth Grade students participated in a project related to their ELA unit "If Stones Could Speak".  They assembled a collection of personal "artifacts" that represented them and presented them to the class with an explanation of how and why these items are significant to them.  The students enjoyed this project immensely, and they got a hands-on social studies lesson in archaeology. Relating Reading and Social Studies fosters curiosity and engagement in both subjects which enhances student learning!
