UPCE Names Renata Barsanti Teacher of the Year

Renata Barsanti, a third - fifth grade ELA teacher at Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary, has been named the UPCE Teacher of the Year!  Ms. Barsanti is a native from North Carolina and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UNC at Chapel Hill. She is a Teach For America Alumni and a 2019 Wall of Fame Inductee for the Pointe Coupee Parish School District. 


Ms. Barsanti is in her third year of teaching at Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary School. During the school day, Ms. Barsanti motivates students to learn by bringing high interest yet challenging activities to the classroom. She is a school mentor to new teachers, a member of the UPCE Leadership Team, a foreign language teacher to second grade students, and serves as the UPCE Intervention Content Leader.


Ms. Barsanti is known for the investment she makes in the lives of her students on a daily basis. In addition to her work in the classroom, on most days, Ms. Barsanti can be found on campus early before the school day begins, preparing for her students and late after the school day ends coaching the UPCE Girls on the Run Empowerment Team or teaching the UPCE School Choir with the 21st Century After School Program.


Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary is proud to call Renata Barsanti a member of the Bulldog Family and name her as the 2019-2020 UPCE Teacher of the Year!
