Red Ribbon Week at Valverda

Red Ribbon Week at Valverda

Last week, Valverda Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week to support and promote being drug free! Throughout the week, students were allowed to participate in dress-up days to show this awareness as a school. Monday, students dressed up as their favorite career or job choice to demonstrate how their future matters. Tuesday, students “socked” it to drugs by wearing silly and crazy socks. Wednesday, students showed they won’t be “mixed up” by drugs by wearing mix-matched clothes. Thursday, students were too cool for drugs by wearing their sunglasses. On Friday, students could wear red to show they were “red”y to live a drug free life. In addition, students were able to participate in different programs throughout the week. Third through sixth graders were provided the opportunity to see a K-9 dog presentation while Pre-K through second grade watched Harvey the Rabbit and Friends Program. Mrs. Kristin’s art classes participated by creating artwork relative to Red Ribbon Week. The students loved participating in this fun week for a great cause!
