Building Citizenship Characteristics in Bulldog Territory

Building Citizenship Characteristics in Bulldog Territory

Students in Mrs. Stephanie LeJeune’s first grade classes are learning about citizenship and building character. When learning about citizenship, the students learned about what it takes to become a good citizen in the Bulldog community. Students realized you had to have the following characteristics: responsibility (green), respect (yellow), fairness (orange), caring (red), trustworthiness (blue), and citizenship (purple). The students had to create handprints using the six characteristics and their corresponding colors to determine how many characteristics they display in their lives and which ones they needed to work on. The students had to explain to the class how they displayed each characteristic in their daily lives. Students had a wonderful time creating their handprints and putting them into the shape of a heart. What a great time to be a citizen at Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary!
